On My Way Home from Alaska; A Pop Culture Road Trip

Our family was blessed to be able to take a family vacation to Alaska this past May 2014.  After a glorious two weeks, we were flying home to Kansas City via Vancouver.  Just after we finished going through customs, I stumbled upon the following Disney toy displays in the Vancouver airport from the collector Ken Stephens of New Westminster BC.

  1. Wow! What a great collection! That certainly must have livened up the airport.

  2. Some fun fact about Translations in Latin América:

It was until around 20 years ago, Goofy's name was translated as "Tribilín" in Latin América. So adults here know him as "Tribilín" not Goofy. It was since 90s that Goofy is called in the right way when translated and dubbed.

Daffy Duck is known as "El Pato Lucas" (Lucas Duck) in Latin América until today. Foghorn Leghorn from the looney Tunes is known as "El Gallo Claudio" (Claudio the rooster), and Uncle Lester (from the Addams Family) is know as "El Tío Lucas" (Uncle Lucas)
Their names are translated this way until today.

Funny, Superman and Batman are known as Supermán and Batman in Latin América.

    Greetings from Perú
